Beautiful Bags & A Great Cause

Last week was my niece's birthday.  The big TEN!  I bought her a unicorn dress, matching backpack, iridescent sandals and a little stuffed unicorn with big sparkly eyes.  She loved all her gifts and it was worth every cent seeing her twirl around in her new outfit and accessories.  What was seriously unsatisfying, was spending just as much money on her gift as I did on her card, gift bag and tissue paper... which was ultimately thrown away.  It made me think, I wish there was a way to give as much value in the gift itself, as the wrapping.

All profits from the sale of these bags go towards experiential educational efforts which address social justice issues.  When students make personal connections to injustice and build relationships with marginalized groups they start to grapple with meaningful questions that ultimately shape our future.  So as you give your beautiful gift to a friend, you are also helping to shape or more humane world!!!   

In an eco-friendly effort, we made sets of reusable cloth gift bags at Christmas for the past couple of years. We found that the bags saved loads of time with the wrapping and they left no big piles of paper on Christmas morning. Plus the whole process of opening gifts became a lot less noisy! We now offer reusable cloth gift bags for sale. Our focus is on quality workmanship and beautiful colors. We do have a lot of fun searching for great looking fabrics that will work well for the gift bags! 

100% of the proceeds from the sale of these reusable cloth gift bags goes toward funding Cheverus High School student participation in both the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice held every year in Washington DC. and Immersion trips in June. When you buy from our shop, you help send a high school student on one of these educational trips that engage participants on a variety of faith-justice issues and provide valuable immersion experiences.
