These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
Okay, let’s be honest. Christmas isn’t about the presents. Christmas is a religious holiday that is celebrated worldwide, by many different cultures in different ways. America has turned it into a commercialized month of complete chaos. We’ve lost touch with what the holiday is really about. Being together.
If everything “Christmas” disappeared and we could only keep one tradition alive, I would choose being with friends and family. Being with the ones we love is what Christmas is truly about. BUT, you can’t deny what goes along with it all. The food, the parties the lights! It’s all fabulous and helps get your Christmas spirit high.
Now let’s get real. Giving feels great, but receiving is pretty fabulous too. Santa never misses my house for Christmas and he always knows what I want. I made Santa’s shopping easy this year by making it a one-stop-shop at H&M.
Let’s start with the black tuxedo blazer dress. It could possibly be the most universally flattering and fashion forward dress of the season. Not to mention it’s season ability never ends. This dress can be worn to work, a party, a night out, even a special occasion with the right accessories.
Wear it to work with black skinny trousers and pumps. Going to a party? Pair this tuxedo dress with white booties that you can dance in all night. On a night out, I’d pair this dress with thigh-high boots and a pair of sparkly earrings (like the stunning danglers pictured above). For an evening special occasion, pumps and a clutch will complete the look
Baby, it’s cold outside! To stay cozy and warm, this ivory sweater is everything. It’s over sized, so be sure to balance your look by keeping your bottom half, slim. For a fun evening look, pair this sweater with faux leather leggings and booties. Going to your kids Christmas Concert? This sweater will be perfect over a pencil skirt and tall boots. Or get cozy out front of the fire and pair this sweater over holiday printed leggings.
The last thing that Santa must bring me are these patent leather, lug sole booties. Their possibilities are endless. They go with dresses, skirts, pants, leggings, basically, anything but workout attire. A lug sole is ideal for winter weather, because it grips the ground and keeps your shoe elevated from the wet conditions. Also, the patent leather is almost a water-proof barrier to keep your feet dry all day.
If Santa doesn’t bring me all of my favorite things this Christmas, I’ll be fine. Material things are fun, but being with my friends and family, eating holiday foods, singing Christmas songs, going to parties and watching my son sing at his school’s Christmas Concert is what brings me true JOY.
