SHINING STYLE: When Stretch Matters

Stretch matters. Like, really, really matters. Ever put on a pair of jeans with no stretch and think, I can do this? You walk out of the house and feel confident that your jeans are holding you in nice and tight… then you sit. Oh no. You didn’t consider the fact that you’re going to lunch with your man and now you can’t breath. At this moment, stretch matters. The shape of your body is constantly changing and your clothes should adapt to that change.

Stretch doesn’t only apply to giving you more room when you need it. Stretch also allows your clothing to go back to it’s original shape, after accommodating to all your movement. Those same jeans (high waisted, super skinny, no stretch) that looked amazing walking out the door will almost always result in a “baggy bottom”, if your denim doesn’t have stretch. Even the super trendy straight or flare jeans will keep their optimal shape with a little bit of stretch.

Stretch is actually really personal to me. I have an Autoimmune Inflammatory Bowel Disease called Lymphocytic Colitis. Basically, I have chronic inflammation in my intestines which results in a lot of abdominal bloating. Fun right? But this isn’t a “poor me” story. This is a legit reason when stretch matters. My disease can be really unpredictable, so knowing that ALL my clothes will give me room in the waist when I need it most, is peace of mind.

Shining Style gets that. Almost everything they sell has stretch. Like this insanely stretchy workout set. When I first opened it out of the package, I was like, wow, that looks really small. I stretched the buttery soft fabric over my body and was blown away at how perfectly it fit. The leggings are high wasited and cinch right at the smallest part of your body. There’s tons of stretch, but also tighter woven areas that help accentuate where you want it most. Definitely check out all the gorgeous looks from Singing Style, with stretch.

When stretch matters, be sure you have it exactly where you need it. I’ll always purchase fitted clothing with a bit of stretch, not only to accommodate my chronic abdominal inflammation, but to also ensure the fit goes back to it’s original shape. Stretch matters.
