Affordable Fashion: Where to Shop (Vol. 1)

I’m officially screaming it from the rooftops, “H&M is my favorite store to shop”. We have one here at the Maine Mall. It’s always fully stocked with women’s casual, basics, business and accessories. It’s also fully stocked with junior’s, kid’s and men’s clothing and accessories. H&M is that one store that I know I can walk into a create a look for anyone. ANYONE. My grandpa, my kids, my kid’s teacher, my husband (and that says a lot), etc. You get the idea.

Now, being able to complete an outfit for anyone you know is a feat in itself, but being able to do it under $100… That’s exceptional. I’m talking head to toe, layering pieces, clothing, accessories, shoes. There’s something for everyone with any budget. H&M has a huge variety of sizes, shapes and styles.

The ONE thing I would say about H&M to keep in mind, is that sometimes their sizing can be quite inconsistent. I would say half my wardrobe is H&M, so I’ve figured out how to adjust when shopping online, but I would definitely recommend shopping IN-STORE and TRYING EVERYTHING ON the first few times you shop the brand. I own pieces that range from XS to 14, and they all fit my size 8 body.

Major go-to’s at H&M for me are their line of basics. Most of my t-shirts, shorts, leggings and tunics are H&M. I love that I don’t have to look at the prices, because they’re always amazing and are always made from sustainable material. Business button-downs are always plentiful and offer a huge variety of colors and prints. Again, the prices will shock you, so stock up. I also love their denim. It’s consistent. I have a pair of their high-rise skinny jeans in every wash they offer.

Lastly, the best part of H&M is they make shopping EASY! The front of the store features all their new merchandise. Each rack will have pieces that are intended to go together, so making an outfit is something anyone can do. Oh look, you love that knit dress. But wait, right next to it is this amazing neutral trench that will be perfect for layering. The shoes that you must get to go with your outfit are strategically placed on the shelf right above the dress and trench. You’re welcome. Happy shopping… at H&M.
