Ever Considered a Clothing Subscription?

Ever heard of Stitch Fix? Trunk Club? Wantable? They’re wardrobe subscription programs that send you monthly boxes of “hand selected” pieces, specially selected by a “Personal Stylist”. They ask you a bunch of questions about your personal style, your body type, your personal preferences… Then send you a selected amount of pieces. Usually the “styling fee” is waived IF you keep all the pieces, but the real question is, “Is it worth it?”

I remember being at a Women’s Networking Cocktail event and the absolute worst thing happened. Three women were wearing the EXACT same outfit. Head to toe. As a Personal Stylist, I had to talk to each of them to figure out how this could possibly happen? All three had the same answer, “Stitch Fix”. Ouch. There goes that, “hand selected” element they promise.

A lot of my Clients have tried a clothing subscription. That’s why they called me. After months of boxes of clothing coming that “doesn’t fit”, “isn’t their style”, “too expensive”, they realize that they could save a lot of money and time just calling me. Every single person’s body is different. Every single person’s current wardrobe has different needs. Every single person has a different taste. There’s no cookie cutter solution for everyone.

Although I thought these clothing subscription boxes were going to put me out of business, I ultimately learned that they are actually bringing awareness to Personal Styling and direct clients to me. I won’t lie, I really like a lot of the looks on the Stitch Fix site. But I can find those pieces too, for way less. So, if you like a look and don’t know where to find the pieces, call me. That’s what I do.
