Loungewear by FEMME LUXE

Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to focus on what really matters. Loungewear. Loungewear really matters. The Coronavirus is real and it’s still an everyday part of our lives. It affects almost every decision we make. My personal business has been devastated by the Pandemic. My target market is professional women. Whether it’s a CEO who needs looks for multiple events coming up or someone who just started a new position and wants to “look the part”, all of that isn’t happening. Not saying that women aren’t being promoted in their careers, but those promotions are mostly happening remotely, behind a computer and there’s little need to look like a BOSS. Hence, my Personal Shopping division has been directly affected.

I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t hurt. It does. My momentum in that specific division was awesome before the Pandemic. Even when the stores opened back up, I was flooded with Clients looking for help with moving forward with their careers. I quickly realized that my job got exponentially more challenging when I discovered that dressing rooms weren’t open. It’s basically like an uphill battle when working with a new client and we’re unable to get an idea of how clothing is going to fit on their body. Talk about a major roadblock. My rule is always, “try it on”. It’s not only frustrating for me, it’s just as frustrating for the client, because they blindly have to trust someone they met on a Zoom call. That’s a lot to ask of someone.

Okay, enough of all the “poor me”. There are so many people that have been financially and emotionally impacted way more than my Wardrobe Consulting job. This is actually when I thank all the amazing people that have continued to call me with their wardrobe needs and continued to support my Fashion Blog (which has been a lifesaver during the Pandemic). When one door closes, another opens.

For me, the opportunity to wear and promote loungewear is that window. I’ve been passionate about loungewear for my entire life. I go through phases where there’s more opportunity to wear it than others, but I’d say that Coronavirus has been the ultimate. The ultimate opportunity to go sporty and comfortable, without looking like a slob. Tracksuits, sweatsuits, yoga pants… it’s all good.
