It's Dress Season!

No one is more excited about dress season than I am. No one. I’m the queen of dresses for multiple reasons. First being, it’s a one-stop shop. No need for matching your top to your bottom. No need worrying if they go together. Of course they go together… it’s a dress! It’s a fuss-free way to get dressed for the day. You throw on a dress, shoes and a bag and you’re out the door in minutes.

The second reason why I love dresses is because dresses are like a blank canvas. You can dress them up or down as much as you want (a formal occasion dress would be an exception). Take this spaghetti strap, A-line black dress from DressLily, for example. Throw on a pair of tennis sneakers and a denim jacket and you have a perfect daytime casual look that will be cool and comfortable. For evening or an event, some delicate jewelry, a sleek clutch and strappy heels will take this dress to the next level.

Third reason why dresses are awesome is all about fit. Once you find a dress that fits well, I recommend stocking up. Not sure what style looks good on your body type? Keep in mind that a wrap style dress is flattering on almost all bodies. It cinches at the waist without pinching, because wrap dresses are adjustable to your exact size. Petite? Make sure to choose a style dress that isn’t too long or too wide. It will swallow up your small frame. Big busted? A fit and flare style will offer the balance you need. Not sure what style dress is right for you? That’s what I do for a living. Shoot me an e-mail (chelseakray@gmail.com) and I’m happy to help.

Lastly, I love dresses because they are feminine. I instantly feel like a lady when I put a dress on. Whether it’s running to the grocery store in a t-shirt dress, going to a ladies lunch in a floral midi or a business meeting in a sleek sheath, I always feel confident in a dress. My go-to brand of dresses is definitely DressLily. Their massive selection of styles has something for everyone and each piece fits true-to-size. The shipping is fast and the quality always surprises me for the low prices they offer.

If those reasons weren’t enough to convince you that dresses are the absolute best, when is comes to clothing, then you’re just not a dress person. And that’s okay. I dress clients all the time for special occasions, who refuse to consider a dress. Although I always do recommend they try at least one on. Come on, it’s dress season!
