ReStyle Consign- Work It!

I have a prediction for 2024. You’re either going to love it, or hate it, but here it goes: Business Dress/Attire is going to make a comeback. Although it started way before the COVID-19 Pandemic, it seems like the concept of “business attire” has almost disappeared. With folks moving to “working from home” jobs, “athleisure” almost taking over America and a culture that just wants to be more comfortable, we’ve gotten downright casual.

I have a love/hate relationship with it all. I appreciate comfort, but seeing men go to work in cargo shorts and women in leggings and UGGS, we need a work attire intervention. I’m here! I’m here to remind you that looking your best on the outside directly affects your performance at work. Don’t believe me? Dress up, one day this week, and see how it makes you feel on the inside. Not only will the oodles of compliments boost serotonin, but watch how looking great just makes you feel great. There’s a ton of psychology behind it, but I won’t bore you with it all. Just trust me. The second you walk out the door looking like a boss, you’ll start to feel like a boss too.

Not totally committed to a full business/dress attire wardrobe? Good. Balance is key. You don’t need to start over. You already have a ton of great pieces in your closet. And the best way to incorporate new pieces into your already existing wardrobe is to start low commitment. ReStyle Consignment in Freeport, ME has an incredible variety of prices, sizes and styles which are exactly that. Not exactly sure what looks good on you? ReStyle Consignment offers free styling for their customers. My look above, was styled by the Owner, Shelly, and is only $32! The suede mini is new with tags, only $10 and the long sleeve blouse is Talbots and is only $22 (the boots are my own and they’re from Target). Now that’s low commitment.

Not totally committed to a skirt and blouse? No problem. ReStyle Consignment also styled this pants and blazer look that is perfect for the office, a meeting, dinner, you name it. The tan trousers were originally $298, but ReStyle has them, new with tags, for $72. The graphic tee is $16, the blazer is United Colors of Benetton for $29 (by the way, this blazer has stretch in it!), the heels are Madden Girl for $22 and the bag is vintage at $40. Come on. A head to toe look, styled perfectly for me, for around $100. Unheard of.

We’ll have to wait and see if my prediction is right, but in the meantime, let’s dress up. Let’s look great, feel great and Work It!! If you can’t get to ReStyle Consignment in Freeport, Maine, their merchandise is available online HERE.
