Tennis Skirt: GOLD HINGE vs. AMAZON Dupe

If a GOLD HINGE ad hasn’t popped up on your social media yet, just wait. I started seeing ads for their super cute and trendy tennis skirts as early as last spring and one click and I was done. GOLD HINGE. GOLD HINGE. GOLD HINGE. So, I finally break down and go to order this incredibly coveted GOLD HINGE tennis skirt for $42.00 and it’s sold out. In like, every size. Ooooooooooooo. Now I really want one! Funny how that works. I spent a year looking at ads for this skirt, finally go to pull the trigger and I can’t get it.

I did what any smart woman would do when they can’t get what they want from a store/online. I hit up Poshmark. I buy and sell on Poshmark* almost everyday, and I can usually find whatever I want, new, still with tags on it, for less than retail. Although there were no “mushroom” color ones available on Poshmark, I did find a white one, in my size, for $20.00. It arrived in two days and did not disappoint. With a wide and compressing waistband, built in bike shorts and a perfect pleat, I’ll be wearing this “skort” all summer long.

So, this (pictured above) is the GOLD HINGE skirt I wanted in “mushroom” that was sold out. Because I couldn’t find it on their website and on Poshmark, I GOOGLED “GOLD HINGE tennis skirt dupe”. And wouldn’t you know it… AMAZON makes an exact replica. I was intrigued. IF they had the color that I wanted, it was worth giving it a try. So, I ordered a skirt from AMAZON, in the color I originally wanted (because two skirts is better than one) and it arrived.

No. You’re not seeing double. The AMAZON dupe is exactly the same. At $22.49, it’s a way better deal. After wearing both of them, I can officially say that they look and fit exactly the same. Same material, same cut, same fit. The only visible difference is that AMAZON puts a reflective strip along the back of the skirt and GOLD HINGE puts their logo on theirs. I mean, who really cares?

If you’re looking to score some cute skorts for summer, I highly suggest either brand. The style is universally flattering, comfortable, functional and if you like to save money, get yours from AMAZON. You’re welcome.

*By the way, if you don’t already buy and sell on Poshmark, I highly recommend you do. And if you use my referral code: @CHELSEAKRAYFASH you’ll start with $10.00 in your account to start Poshing.
