Pack a Dress

Y’all, I travel as much as my schedule and wallet allow. It’s something my husband and I both enjoy the most, and luckily, he tends to like tropical climates too. I will admit, I do still make packing mistakes. Like last fall when we went to a wedding in Miami and I forgot to pack appropriate under garments for the looks I was intending on wearing. I ended up wearing this one dress like, everyday, because it was the only one that worked with the bra I had worn on the plane.

With that said, I’m so glad I DID pack my go-to vacation dress. It’s a piece I always go back to and with so much versatility in going day to night, I know I’ll be reaching for it over and over again. Dresses are bomb. Now I know some people don’t wear them. They just don’t feel comfortable in a dress, and that’s fine, but hear me out. A dress is a one-stop-shop piece. There’s no fussing over whether it matches, or if it’s too casual or if you’re going to be too warm. A dress is a guarantee.

Also, dresses take up less space in your suitcase, so you can pack more shoes!! A little black or white dress can be worn in a million different ways with just a change of shoes and a bag. BONUS. I live in t-shirt dresses from H&M in the summer. During the day, I wear them with flat sandals or sneakers and a crossbody, but at night I like to throw on a pair of heels, some gold jewelry and a sexy clutch and it completely transforms the look.

Next time you travel, instead of creating outfits, pack a dress. You’ll thank me.

My dress above is FREE PEOPLE and was purchased many years ago in Savannah, GA,
